Trança Lateral / The LC braid

I’m always glad to see people’s interest in my blog; therefore I was in ecstasy to see the positive feedback to this post and the number of people who requested a how-to on the braid I wore.
1. Use a rat tail comb to separate the front section of your hair. Use your ear as reference. Put the back part of the hair in a pony tail so as not to interfere with the braid.
2. Choose a side to start braiding. Take a small section of your hair (make sure you don’t take too much hair, use the picture as reference).
3. Make a simple braid, but instead of braiding it down, do it in the opposite direction, covering your head.
4. This is the crucial part: as the braid starts growing, take new sections of your hair and add them to the ongoing braid. In the picture, my left hand holds the three sections of the braid, while my right hand holds a new section of hair which will be added to one of the braid’s already existing sections.
5. Add the new section of your hair to one of the three sections of the braid. Notice how my right hand is holding the new section which I selected in the previous picture plus one of the three sections of the braid.
6. Repeat the process as your braid grows: hold the three sections of the braid in one hand, and with the other pick up a new section of hair to incorporate to one of the three existing ones.
7. Once all the front section of your hair is incorporated to the braid, finish braiding it in a simple way.
8. Let your hair out and hold the braid to the lateral side of your head with a bob pin.
The lateral braid is not difficult to be done, nevertheless it requires practice. If your first try doesn’t end up perfect, don’t worry: my first attempt wasn’t perfect either. Instead take advantage of the fact that loose and imperfect braids are in nowadays!
