As a big 80's fan, one source of inspiration for me is the movie Flashdance. Besides the awesome soundtrack, I'm just drawn to the dancing routines. I guess it has something to do with the fact that I spent most of my teenage years dancing. Ever since I had this haircut, the Jennifer Beals in me has become more and more evident and I couldn't help but have a Flashdance "photoshoot" the first time I visited New York. That was when I stayed in a hostel that had this cool warehouse vibe, perfect for dancing. The character Alex was even my Halloween costume this year. Leg warmers included.

Diversão na neve / Fun in the snow
por
Camille
Acordei, abri a janela e tudo branco. Tive que ir lá fora brincar!
One of the biggest expectations of Brazilians when living in the United States is to see snow. And it arrived slowly. Once, it hit Vermont pretty delicately. You couldn't even tell she went by if you looked to the ground. However, last week, it came stronger. I woke up, opened the window, and all of a sudden, everything was white. I had to go out and play!

Sessão de fotos em Nova Iorque / Photoshoot in New York

Eu sei! Eu amei as fotos, ela amou o Brasil! :)
I know! I disappeared! But I had a reason: my coming to the United Stated changed my life completely, along with my routine. I needed some (several, actually) months to adapt. However, the reason for my returning couldn't be another one: for the first time I met in person a blogger friend. And she isn't from Brazil. Maddy has a beautiful photography blog, ad when I realized that I was moving somehow close to where she lives, I didn't hesitate and contacted her. We met in New York's Central Park for a photoshoot and to chat about Braazil. I fell in love with the pictures, she fell in love with Brazil. :)

Sim! Cortei o cabelo!
Yes! I've cut my hair! Those who added me on facebook already knew about this change, but what I didn't know was the hit and positive repercussion my haircut had! I'm finally in the US, in the state of Vermont, and around here is really rare to find somebody with natural curls. So after being asked hundreds of time if my curls were natural, the answer comes easily: "yes, without a drop o chemicals, for the first time in my life!"

So that's it. I'm leaving it all behind. I've finished college, cancelled cell phone account, said goodbye to family and friends, quit my job and now I'm traveling. I've realized that I'll miss my family, that traveling requires courage and that students also win the teachers over, not only the other way around. And yes, I needed to travel to realize that I love my life and that God has blessed me beyond my wild expectations.
I'm once again at the blog À La Brésilienne, but this time with my looks! Check it out!

Sou modesta em casamentos / I'm modest when it comes to weddings
por
Camille
Vale conferir!
My trip has been creeping nearer and nearer, and a bunch of tasks have presented to be completed before the big day. Because of these tasks I've lost a wedding of a dear friend this Saturday. I was then looking through some pictures of looks I've put together for weddings in the past and I came upon this one. I love it 'cause of the bun I've managed to put up. It helped me to put together a modest yet pretty look.
p.s.: Greyce has put together a wonderful post on her blog called À Là Brasilienne about Rio with pictures from Sachê e Bombom. It's worth a look!
